Frequently Asked Questions

What does the free consultation look like?

The free consultation is a 15-minute phone call with our therapist, Morgan. This is the time for Morgan to get to know some of the basics regarding what you have been experiencing and why you are seeking out services. This is also the time for you to get to know Morgan! Therapy can be a very vulnerable experience, so it’s important to make sure you find a therapist that is the right “fit.” Morgan welcomes any and all questions, encouraging you to take this time to get to know her, just as she will take this time to get to know you.

This is my first time going to therapy…what can I expect?

Our therapist, Morgan, will meet you exactly where you are. Therapy is a sacred space—one where there is no judgment, no expectations, and no pressure. Morgan has been where you are and knows exactly how scary it can be walking into therapy for the first time. Her cozy office and warm demeanor will ensure you feel safe and comfortable from when you first walk in.

Is outpatient therapy right for me?

This is something that you and your therapist will figure out together! It is super important to be fully honest about your symptoms and behaviors in the consultation and intake session so that we can decide if outpatient therapy is a good fit for you. Outpatient therapy entails meeting for one 45-60 minute session once a week (or sometimes once every 2 weeks). We want to make sure that this will be enough support for you at this time in your healing journey. If we decide you need a higher level of care, your therapist will help you find that—and she will be waiting for you when you are ready to take on outpatient therapy in the future!

Do you offer support outside of sessions?

Our therapist encourages her clients to reach out outside of session if they are in need of support. That being said, she does maintain certain boundaries.

It is not guaranteed that Morgan will be able to respond right away. If it is an emergency and/or you feel like your safety is at risk, call 9-1-1. If it is not an emergency and you do reach out, know that Morgan will get back to you as soon as she is able.

If your therapist finds that you reach out outside of session several times a week, she might have a discussion with you about seeking a higher level of care at this time.
